"The Last Namsara" Book Review

This book is the first in a new YA fantasy series that got a lot of hype when it was first released.

Asha is the daughter of the king and the most feared young woman in her kingdom. She is a dragon slayer and loyal warrior. That is until her father commits her to a marriage that she would do anything to escape. Asha makes a bargain with her father that if she brings him the head of the dragon who killed her mother and tried to destroy their kingdom when Asha was a child, she will be free of the arranged betrothal. Ahah sets off on a quest for the dragon, but her past sins still haunt her and visions of the last Namsara warrior plague her, she must choose which destiny is more important for her kingdom rather than herself.

This book was a lot better than I anticipated. Although it had a lot of hype around it, I've never been drawn to books about dragons. I really enjoyed all the characters and the way the plot intertwined with flashbacks from the past. Also, if the story doesn't appeal to you, the cover definitely does. I highly anticipate reading the sequel. I gave this book 4.5/5 stars.
