"When It's Real" book review

I read The Royals series by Erin Watt a while ago and it was fantastic! It was addictive and fun, which is exactly what I was expecting with this new book. And I was not disappointed. This book was also a fun, addictive read.

This story follows Vaughn and Oakley, two completely different people who cross paths in an interesting way and change each others lives forever. Vaughn is a regular girl, struggling to support her siblings after her parents pass and leave them nothing. Oakley is a superstar, the son of two famous actors. Oakley pursued his passion for music and became famous on his own, making a name and then a very bad reputation for himself. Oakley is trying to create a different, more serious sound, and his team has just the thing to help him; an honest, normal girl to date. Oakley's team hires Vaughn to pretend to be that honest, normal girl. Oakley and Vaughn could not be more opposite and realize quickly that they do not like each other. But the longer they're forced to spend time together, the more they learn to understand each other.

In The Royals series, the thing I enjoyed the most was the characters. In this story, I wasn't as interested in the characters, but the story itself and the drama were still fun.

4/5 stars
