"The Air He Breathes" Book Review

This book was heartbreaking! If you're in the mood to cry, this is the book for you. It gave me all the feels!

Elizabeth and her five year old daughter return to their home in a small town one year after Elizabeth's husband was killed in an accident. Elizabeth meets Tristan, a troubled man who everyone in their town, including Elizabeth's closest friends, thinks is no good. Elizabeth finds out that Tristan has experienced his own loss and is grieving his own family. Through their grief, Elizabeth and Tristan grow closer and can relate to each other, able to talk to one another about both of their losses. Their relationship gets complicated when Elizabeth's friends step in, worried about her well-being, and Tristan fights his own internal demons.

I gave this book 4.5/5. It was very entertaining and addictive. It was also beautifully written and raw. The emotions in this book were very real and I felt very connected to the characters. There were a lot of unexpected twists in this book, especially near the end. The only reason I didn't give this book 5/5 was because it was a little on the unrealistic dramatic side near the end, but I truly did enjoy this book and I do recommend it. It is a new-adult book, and if you like that genre, you will definitely enjoy this story of loss and finding love again.
